There are differing grades of ‘Water types’ with escapes of water coming from clean water sources to contaminated sources such as Sewage. We will clean-up following a escape of water using thorough effective procedures and the latest in equipment and cleaning solutions. It is imperative that the Clean-up process is dealt with quickly!! If this process is delayed the contamination ‘grade’ can change very quickly and such change the levels of works required.

Water Categories fall into 3 areas:

  • CATEGORY 1 (CLEAN WATER) -

    • Characteristics - Non toxic, would not pose a hazard or risk to humans. Over time or contacts with other sources its condition may change.
    • Possible Sources – Clean swimming pools/ Broken or damaged water pipes/ Appliance malfunction/ Rain before its contaminated

  • CATEGORY 2 (GREY WATER) -

    • Characteristics - Unsanitary, containing significant degree of chemical, biological and or physical contamination. Potential to cause discomfort or sickness if consumed by humans. Carries micro-organisms or nutrients for micro-organisms.
    • Possible Sources - Dish washer overflows, Washing machine leaks, Toilet bowls containing some urine (no faeces), Aquariums, Water beds.

  • CATEGORY 3  (BLACK WATER) -
    • Characteristics - Contains pathogenic agents and is grossly unsanitary. Could prove fatal if absorbed into the blood stream.
    • Possible Sources - Sewage or other contaminated water sources, Category 2 water if not promptly removed, Toilet back flows originating from beyond the toilet trap (U-bend), Flooding from Seawater, ground source water and rising waters from rivers and streams.
